Blue Flowers BETA XML Theme

Free Blogger / Blogspot XML skin / template! Click on the image to open a new window for a larger view. This template is fixed width. This template will NOT work in "classic" Blogger mode.

This theme features a built in RSS Feed and full support for drag and drop sidebar widgets.

Click Image For Larger View!!

Click BETA XML Pink Flowers template to download the code. Only 12KB.

The images are already hosted via Photobucket, no need to download those separately!

IMPORTANT!

Make sure you backup or save your existing customizations like links and sidebar addons, hit counters, widget contents, etc. before deleting the old skin because they will be replaced by the new code. After installation just copy and paste your customizations back in from your original code.

Backing Up And Installing
Backing Up Your Old Template Data
Installing Your New XML Template

In some cases the template editor will ask to confirm the deletion of some of the widgets / page element sections. This will happen when you have widgets installed that are not included in this theme. This theme includes a bare minimum of widget elements. You should make backup copies of the contents of those widgets before deleting or you will lose the data! Once the theme is installed, you can reinstall your widget elements and complete the customization.

Your blogs title will automatically replace the title you see in the header. The description or tagline will display in the header panel, edit it in your blogs "Settings" area.

i love the skins you make. one problem i am having though is the blogger navigation bar is missing on a couple of my blogs with your skins. this hasn't happened with others i've used in the past, but a couple now don't show it at the top. here are their links so you can see what i mean:

Annie, thanks. I remove the nav bar intentionally because I believe it looks better. Since Blogger only has 4 color choices for the nav bar it rarely matches the theme colors. Your blogs login is always at www.blogger.com or by clicking the Blogger button in the lower sidebar.

If you want the nav bar back simply remove this section of code from the Edit HTML page:

#navbar-iframe {
height: 0px;
visibility: hidden;
display: none;
}

Hope that helps!

I tried using your blue flowers theme and I did what your instructions said but my blog comes up in code. Is there something I missed? I had someone else try it too and same thing. I'd really like to use your skins but it just doesn't seem to work.

villagegirl, your blog is running in classic mode, the skin you were trying to use is coded for xml or beta mode. You'll have to switch modes by clicking on Customize Design, then click on Upgrade Your Template. You'll have to choose a new template from that lineup.

Once you've done that, your blog will be in xml mode, then you can delete the template code from the window and paste in the code from any xml template you want.

You can always switch back again if you don't like it for any reason. Just make sure you retain a copy of your friends links because you'll have to copy and paste them back in using the widgets. The xml templates are much easier to customize.

Worked like a charm. Thanks for your help! Just need to add some of my stuff back but I don't think that should be a problem.
Thanks again.

Thanks so much for the sharing these - I love this skin. I'd like to change the font and size of the blog title though...is that possible to do and if so, how do I do it? Many thanks!
